Why choose osteopathy? +

For a whole-person approach to care. To deepen your understanding of limiting factors to a more complete expression of health. To learn more about how all body systems work together. To learn how to move better with less pain.

I have seen an osteopathic practitioner before, will your sessions be similar? +

osteopathic training differs depending on both country & school however, the goals of osteopathic treatment are the same: promote health and healing by improving form, function, and mobility of the entire body. I may use different approaches than you have seen in the past, but I discuss rationale and work with your preferences. As manual osteopathy is still unregulated in BC, it is advisable to ensure that your Osteopathic Practitioner has received comprehensive training that was given in person (yes, purely online schools exist).

Are osteopathic practitioners medical doctors? +

No, Osteopathic Practitioners are not medical doctors and do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. It is always advisable to consult your medical doctor for any health concerns.

What approaches are used? +

my training includes biodynamic, cranial & visceral osteopathy, joint mobilizations, orthopaedic testing, massage, myofascial release, and counterstrain, for paediatric and adult populations.

How long are the sessions? +

treatments generally last anywhere between 45 and 60 minutes.

What should I wear? +

loose, comfortable clothing is best.

How many sessions do I need? +

everyone has different needs but generally I like to see people for 3 sessions over 4-6 weeks when we start out.

Are treatments covered by extended medical benefits? +

most insurance companies cover osteopathic treatments. Check with your provider to verify your coverage.

Do you do home consults? +

in some cases (newborns & those with limited mobility) home consults may be possible. Please email for home consult inquiries.
